Final Figures From Techtextil

Atlanta, GA The second edition of Techtextil North America, the international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, was held April 9-12, 2002 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. The show attracted an impressive group of 291 exhibitors filling the exhibit space, expanded by 30% over the 2000 show . Highly qualified buyers from around the world attended the biennial event, further estabilishing the shows position as the paramount business, educational and networking event for the technical textile and nonwovens industry.<BR><BR>The show floor was bustling with activity as 291 exhibitors from 21 countries showcased their new products and ideas to industry buyers. International pavilions from Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany and Taiwan added to the international dimension of the show. Exhibitors expressed a high level of satisfication with the turnout of buyers at Techtextil North America. Many were delighted with the number and quality of the buyers at the show. The 4,024 attendees from 32 countries brought an upbeat attitude about the industry to the show. Exhibitors reported promising new contacts as well as orders written during the show or expected for post-show business. Buyer surveys conducted on the show floor echoed a positive outlook on the future of the industry in North America. Held in conjunction with show, the Techtextil-Symposium North America was very well attended. Buyers and exhibitors, eager to discover the latest research and findings in the nonwovens and technical textiles industry, praised the presentations by renowned industry experts. Topics leading to active discussions included new and emerging technologies, standards and testing for the industry, product development and marketing, transportation textiles, construction textiles as well as a range of new research and product applications.The next Techtextil North America will be held March 30 April 1, 2004 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta.
