Forum on distribution, consumption trends opens European machinery show.

Tecno TMA Textil Preview TI Special Report Tecno TMA Textil Forum on distribution, consumption trends opens largest 2001 European machinery show. The city of Bologna, Italy, will host Tecno TMA Textil 2001 May 26-30 at the Bologna Exhibition Center. The exhibition, billed as the largest, most comprehensive and most international of all the textile machinery shows to be held in Europe in 2001, is being staged with the support of BolognaFiere, the Italian Association of Textile Industry Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and Studio Ambrosetti.Tecno TMA Textil will comprise 40,000 square meters of exhibit space arranged in 19 sectors representing all areas of the textile industry, including raw materials processing, spinning, weaving, knitting and finishing, as well as software, trading companies, services and publications. Facilities for visitors will include a business center, press room, meeting rooms and computerized information services.Organizers of the exhibition expect 20,000 visitors to the fair, including as many as 2,500 from 65 countries in addition to Italy. Most visitors are expected from Europe especially Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean region. Trade delegations from Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, Egypt and Poland, as well as delegations from other countries, will be counted among the visitors. Their attendance is being arranged with help from the Italian Overseas Trade Center and ACIMIT.Forum Will Open ExhibitionA forum opening Tecno TMA Textil will take a strategic look at the future for the textile machinery industry as it is affected by changing distribution and consumption trends. Consideration will be given to distribution, communication, technology, relocation, outsourcing, internationalization and integration. Participants will look at advantages and disadvantages vis-is outsourcing and relocation made possible due to technological advances in the industry.Economic and social structures, changing tastes and lifestyles, mass distribution factors and international fashion influences will be used to draw a profile of the consumer in the 21st century, as well as the overall requirements and expectations of the retail trade and consumer markets.
