New Name Announced For Synthetic Industries

Chickamauga, Ga.-based Synthetic Industries has changed its name to SI Corp. The name change was prompted by the companys growth and the evolution of its business strategy for the new century.According to Joe Dana, president, the name Synthetic Industries no longer accurately describes the corporation in the marketplace or its vision as it moves forward. Materials produced by the company are not exclusively synthetic in nature. We have expanded beyond being a producer of synthetic products by offering a wide range of efficient, cost-effective solutions made from many different materials, said Dana. Other materials produced by SI Corp. include erosion-control products made from natural fibers and a steel fiber line for concrete reinforcement.SI is made up of five business units with distinct market focuses. In keeping with the new corporate strategy, each unit also has a new name. The business units are now named SI Concrete Systems, SI Flooring Systems, SI Geosolutions, SI Perfor-mance Fabrics and SI Technical Textiles. While manufacturing is one of SIs strengths, the company continues to shift its focus from product production to its ability to market a full line of innovative solutions in the form of products and services, said Leonard Chill, CEO. Our new name more accurately represents our company today, he added.
