Boehme Filatex Introduces Softener For Acrylic Fibers

Boehme Filatex Inc., Reidsville, N.C., has introduced Dousoft® PAN, a cationic softener specifically developed for acrylic fiber.

According to the company, Dousoft PAN is low foaming, does not contain alkylphenol ethosxylates and does not contain SARA Title III, Section 313 chemicals at reportable levels.

The product can be applied by both pad and exhaust applications and in acrylic yarn package dyeing, it may be applied in the dyebath to save cycle time or in a separate post-softening step after dyeing.

Boehme Filatex reports that production trials have shown that Dousoft PAN has excellent exhaustion with uniform distribution of the yarn softener throughout the yarn package.
