Symcad Electronic Master Tailor System From Telmat

France-based Telmat Industrie has developed the Symcad Electronic Master Tailor system, which can measure a persons body shape and garment size in less than 30 seconds. The system electronically measures up to 70 measurements and postures, which can be exported to various CAD systems.Symcad consists of a permanent or transportable booth where individuals can be fully measured without any type of contact. The 3-D body data is captured within 40 milliseconds using Symcads patented 3-D data-acquisition system, which is based on natural rays of light. In calculating clothing sizes, Symcad takes into account the wearers comfort at all critical points on the body.Symcad is available in two versions: SizeMatch and OptiFit. Sizematch uses statistical tools to provide optimally useful size charts, and OptiFit allows the export of measurement data to a specialized CAD system.
