Lydall Sells Pennsylvania Woven Products Operation

Lydall Inc., Manchester, Conn., has announced the sale of its Fort Washington, Pa., woven products operation to Fabric Development Inc., Quakertown, Pa.

Fabric Development, a weaver of high-performance fabrics, will continue operations at the Fort Washington location, where the production capabilities will enhance the company’s existing capabilities and complement its research and development programs.

“The specialty woven products of the Fort Washington operation did not fit the long-term strategy of Lydall to focus on engineered filtration/separation and thermal/acoustical products,” explained Christopher Skomorowski, president and CEO of Lydall. “The sale of this business is part of Lydall’s ongoing restructuring plan to concentrate in these markets.”
