Alliance Formed To Advance Textile And Apparel Education

Philadelphia University, Philadelphia, and Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico, have formed a strategic alliance to develop undergraduate and graduate-level educational programming, technical seminars and executive level development programs to benefit textile and apparel companies in the United States and Mexico.

“With more and more joint cooperation between U.S.-owned manufacturers and Mexican business, the need for highly trained textile and apparel professionals who can be effective in both markets is increasing,” said David Brookstein, dean of Philadelphia University’s School of Textiles and Materials Technology.

Elmore Alexander, Philadelphia University’s dean of the School of Business Administration agreed. “This alliance is critical to the success of the textile enterprise in both countries,” he said. “It is a partnership that will have far-reaching implications.”
