Spotlight On Supplies And Services
A preview of the upcoming Textile SuppliesandServices Expo.
Spotlight On Supplies And Services Last year, the premier of TISSEC (Textile Industry
SuppliesandServices Exhibition and Conference) opened up a door for industry suppliers to reach
their prospective clients. This year, the name of the show may be different, but the idea behind it
remains the same. The newly named Textile SuppliesandServices Expo 99 will be held October 19-21 at
the Palmetto Exposition Center, Greenville, S.C. The show is again sponsored by the American
Textile Machinery Association (ATMA) and Textile Hall Corp. It is also endorsed by the American
Textile Manufacturers Association (ATMI), which has been getting the word out to all of its members
about the importance of this years show.According to Bob Ellis, president of Textile Hall and
director of the Textile Supplies and Services Expo, the show will feature a wide range of supplies
and services including textile parts and accessories, hardware and software solutions, material
handling and plant maintenance equipment, business and financial services, chemicals, management
consultants, transportation providers, packaging and shipping services, safety equipment,
environmental management services and supplies and instrumentation for process monitoring. The new
name was created to better reflect what the show is all about. Ellis said that TISSEC was, in a
way, non-descriptive. Show planners decided simplicity would be a better idea.Ellis said that this
year organizers are actively selling space, and the exhibitor list includes returning companies as
well as some new names. With the help of ATMI spreading the word, Ellis hopes that more industry
leaders will attend the show. Last year's turnout was approximately 1,200 people. Ellis said this
year he hopes to see 3,000 to 4,000 visitors.Exhibitors For The Textile SuppliesandServices '99
