Adolf Hergeth Dies At 88

RALEIGH, N.C. — February 18, 2014 — Ing. Adolf W. Hergeth passed away on February 14 at the age of 88 in his hometown of Duelmen in Germany. Adi Hergeth was a co-founder and principal of Hergeth KG in Germany and in South Carolina until the company was taken over by John D. Hollingsworth in the early 1980s. He was known the world over for his contributions to the textile machinery industry, including opening and cleaning equipment for staple spinning, the Hergeth picker (scutcher), direct feed systems and carding machines, and early developments in nonwovens equipment.
