Cotlook’s Initial Supply And Demand Forecasts For 2013/2014 (August/July) Season Imply A Further Increase World Stocks
BIRKENHEAD, United Kingdom — February 21, 2012 — Cotton Outlook's initial supply and demand
estimates for the 2013/14 season indicate an addition to world stocks of1,145,000 tonnes, compared
to the rise of 3,536,000 predicted at the end of the current season.
The global production forecast shows a reduction of 1,904,000 tonnes compared to the corresponding figure for 2012/13. The biggest reductions are in the United States and China.
Global consumption is predicted to rise by 487,000 tonnes, to be placed at 23,154,000 tonnes.
