Americhem, FRX Polymers Sign Exclusive Distribution Agreement
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Americhem Inc. — a provider of custom color and additive solutions for
man-made fibers and plastics — and FRX Polymers Inc. — a Chelmsford, Mass.-based manufacturer of
non-halogen environmentally friendly inherently flame-retardant (FR) plastics for fiber, textile,
carpeting and certain non-textile applications — have signed a multi-year agreement under which
Americhem will be the exclusive distributor in Western Europe and Turkey of FRX 100 polymer.
"We are pleased to be partnering with FRX Polymers in the fibers industry," said Dave Bouton, vice president of business development, Americhem. "FRX Polymers produces a unique flame retardant additive in that it is melt processable and sold in pellet form. This makes it especially well-suited for melt spinning into fiber resins, such as polyesters. We see a big potential for FRX Polymers in this market, and we are delighted to offer these products exclusively to customers in the European market."
Founded in 2007, FRX Polymers operates polymer pilot plants in Chelmsford and in Switzerland, and soon will start up its first commercial plant in Antwerp, Belgium.
