APDN, TCOE Launch Anti-Counterfeiting Platform For Textiles
Applied DNA Sciences Inc. (APDN), Stony Brook, N.Y., and the Textile Center of Excellence (TCOE),
United Kingdom, have launched an anti-counterfeiting platform under APDN's SigNature® DNA brand of
anti-counterfeiting technology.
The platform uses APDN's botanically derived SigNature DNA markers to mark and authenticate textiles, apparel and accessories including yarns, thread, fabric selvage, and labels. The markers, which may be integrated at any stage of the supply chain to trace a product's manufacturing origins, are authenticated in a laboratory and provide definitive, forensic proof accepted by courts globally.
"SigNature DNA technology offers textile and clothing manufacturers a fool-proof and affordable solution to the growing menace of product counterfeiting," said Bill Macbeth, managing director, TCOE. "We are ready and willing to help brand owners and manufacturers to boost their brand values and revenues by incorporating this unique protection into their products."
