Carhartt To Offer Garments Made With TenCate Tecasafe® Plus Fabrics

Union City, Ga.-based TenCate Protective Fabrics Americas -- manufacturer of inherently flame-resistant (FR) protective apparel fabrics, and a division of The Netherlands-based Royal Ten Cate's TenCate Protective Fabrics business -- announces a collaboration with Dearborn, Mich.-based workwear brand Carhartt to develop a line of FR garments featuring TenCate Tecasafe® Plus fabric.

TenCate Tecasafe Plus fabric offers comfort and durability as well as inherent flame resistance -- including arc and flash fire protection lasting twice as long as FR-treated cotton fabrics -- at an affordable price, TenCate reports. Carhartt will introduce workwear featuring the fabric in August 2012 and initially will offer the garments in two weight and colors.

"We have been very excited about this brand connection," said William Smith, sales manager, TenCate Industrial. "Carhartt has been very pleased with the support they got from TenCate regarding this project."
