Kornit Digital Receives GOTS Approval For Its CMYK And White Inks

ROSH-HA'AYIN, Israel — January 17, 2012 — Kornit Digital, the world's leading producer of industrial and commercial digital printers for the textile industry, today announced it has received GOTSV3 approval for its CMYK and White water-based ink.

The GOTS standard ensures Kornit Digital's ink to be nonhazardous, non-toxic, formaldehyde and heavy-metal free as well as biodegradable. This certification guarantees the traceability of and use of both environmentally-friendly and consumer-healthy inks.

The Global Organic Textile Standard was established in 2008 in order to encourage the growth of companies with a higher percentage of organic substances in its processing, manufacturing, and labeling.

The aim of the standard is to create a measurement in which to guarantee the organic status of textiles, garments, and apparels, from the harvesting through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing and labeling. The GOTS standard includes the production, processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, exportation, importation and distribution of all natural fibres, including garments and apparel.

As a result, GOTS-certified companies have increased worldwide, from around 1000 in 2008 to around 2600 in 2010.

A list of GOTS-approved chemical inputs has also been developed, evaluated according to environmental criteria by specialists in the chemical field. Since Kornit Digital CYMK ink is GOTSV3 certified, it is the most suitable to use to print on organic garments and apparels.
