Freudenberg Nonwovens To Install Lamination Unit At UK Facility
Germany-based Freudenberg Nonwovens is installing a new lamination unit at its plant in
Littleborough, United Kingdom (UK), as part of the expansion of its adsorptives business segment in
the UK.
The Littleborough plant is the newest of Freudenberg Nonwovens' three plants in the UK. The company broke ground on the plant in 2008 and began production in 2009, and has achieved outstanding progress from the beginning, Freudenberg reports. "We are continually investing in the latest manufacturing technology and laboratory equipment to make sure that we are well-positioned for the future," said Andrew Fisher, adsorptives business representative in the UK.
The plant produces activated carbon materials and filters - performing all processes including coating, laminating, conversion and finishing. End-product applications include protective clothing such as chemical and biological personal protective equipment; air purification filters; and odor-control applications including medical and ostomy products, specialist performance clothing, footwear, pet products, and household deodorization products. The company currently is developing an adsorptive product for liquid purification to remove contaminants.
