Gradient Lens Corp. — a Rochester, N.Y.-based manufacturer of precision optics and optical instruments — has introduced the Luxxor® Video Microscope for inspecting textiles and fabrics. The microscope features a f/4.5 zoom lens that offers sharp close-up views of the exterior of any object placed on the microscope's 15-inch-by-10-inch table; a 15x to 83x magnification range, and up to 200x when optional adapters are used; and the ability to inspect objects up to 16 inches in height. Other features include metrology for accurate measurement; Video ToolBox software for capturing video or still images; and the ability to document, store and email results.

The Luxxor Video Microscope also may be converted to a borescope using an optional adapter to enable external and internal inspection of metal machined parts, castings or welded parts.
