KILRUSH, Ireland — March 10, 2011 — Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics will launch the Coretech™ barrier membrane technology platform in Europe at Techtextil 2011 in Frankfurt, Germany, 24-26 May 2011. This technology enables the creation of engineered barrier materials which are versatile and lightweight composite membranes that are made by combining different polymers, elastomers and woven and non-woven substrates. Saint-Gobain will showcase a range of materials developed using patented Coretech™ technology that resist the permeation of a wide range of hazardous chemical, warfare, and biological substances in both liquid and vapour form. Applications of the membrane technology include Saint-Gobain's ONESuit® line of hazmat suits; protective shelter materials; petro-chemicals storage and transport systems; and portable water containment. Coretech™ barrier membrane applications will be showcased at the Saint-Gobain booth D11, Hall 4.1.
