Fehrer Automotive North America To Relocate S.C. Facility, Add Jobs
Fehrer Automotive North America LLC — a developer and series supplier of automotive interior
components, and a subsidiary of Germany-based F.S. Fehrer Automotive GmbH — will invest more than
$14 million to relocate its production operations from Fountain Inn, S.C., to an expanded site in
Duncan, S.C., creating 130 jobs over the next five years. The company has outgrown its current
80,000 square feet of combined manufacturing and warehousing facilities and will move to a
100,000-square-foot site in Duncan, with additional space available for future expansion.
"The Duncan site is a good fit and allows us to position ourselves for future business opportunities," said Fehrer spokeswoman Robin Mathis. "We are excited to become part of the Spartanburg County business community and look forward to continued growth, as well as our ability to add additional jobs in the local community."
Fehrer has 22 production facilities located in the United States, Europe, South Africa and Asia, and develops and supplies products including molded seat pads for car seats, arm rests, center consoles, side bolsters, headrests, inner trim panels, and structural parts for cars. The company reports it will begin hiring new employees at the Duncan facility in September.
