INDEX 11 Exhibitor Preview: NatureWorks LLC
MINNETONKA, Minn. — April 11, 2011 — NatureWorks and its supply chain partners — fibers, spunbond,
and meltblown producers — will showcase today at INDEX 11 the latest developments in nonwoven
applications for Ingeo™ biopolymer, a low-carbon-footprint polymer made from renewable plant
material, not oil. (NatureWorks INDEX 11 Booth #2614)
This complete range of Ingeo based fibers and nonwovens provided by NatureWorks partners and customers will be available for viewing at the company's booth, including the latest commercial product innovations, such as the s-bag® GREEN from Electrolux, which utilizes Ingeo meltblown and spunbond fabrics from Sandler. Another new development is the world's first in-line spunbond meltblown Ingeo fabric produced by CL Textile Technology. CL Textile Technology was one of the first Ingeo licensees to provide the market with 100 percent Ingeo spunbond fabrics and is now leading the way with efficient production of even more advanced 100 percent Ingeo structures to meet growing market demands.
The NatureWorks exhibit also features new tailored Ingeo resins for spunmelt applications as well as a range of Ingeo fibers and fabrics commercially available from supply chain partners for a variety of nonwoven applications.
"Many companies specify Ingeo resin for nonwovens applications because of the biopolymer's low greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption during manufacture," said Eamonn Tighe, business development manager, NatureWorks. "As the supply chain has matured and resins optimized, it is clear that Ingeo goes beyond environmental benefits to also offer technical advantages in terms of performance and price stability in the face of fluctuating petroleum costs."
Ingeo solutions on display at INDEX 11 will also be found at the following exhibits:
Fibers producers:
• De Saedeleir Textile Platform #1100
• Far Eastern New Century Corp. (FENC) #1458
• Trevira GmbH #2561
