TenCate Reports Global Tecasafe™ Plus FR Fabric Sales Total More Than 1 Million Yards

Union City, Ga.-based TenCate Protective Fabrics North America reports it has achieved global sales
of more than 1 million yards of its flame-resistant (FR) Tecasafe™ Plus fabric in the two years
since the fabric was introduced in North America. The fabric originally was engineered in Europe
and later was modified to meet the specific requirements of the North American market.

According to the company, the fabric has sold well because it offers comfort and durability
as well as flame resistance at an affordable price. “Before we introduced TenCate Tecasafe Plus in
North America, there were no real options that provided all these features without compromise,”
said Elliad Granger, marketing manager, TenCate Protective Fabrics. “The speedy adoption of this
product and the one million yard milestone are testaments to this fact.” Granger said the fabric,
available in a broad range of colors, also offers excellent electric arc and flash fire protection.

“Tecasafe Plus has been the most successful new fabric adoption we have ever seen in our
business,” said Stan Jewell, vice president of Nashville, Tenn.-based Bulwark Protective Apparel, a
division of VF Imagewear.

TenCate Tecasafe Plus clothing is worn by workers at such companies as Pike Electric, Duke
Power, Conoco Phillips, British Petroleum, Petrobras, Land O’Lakes and Birdseye.
