Schlafhorst Autoconer X5 Offers Updated Automated, Flexible Winding Operation

Germany-based Oerlikon Schlafhorst, a business unit of Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co. KG, reports its Autoconer X5 package winding machine, a redesigned version of the Autoconer 5, offers greater automation and flexibility compared to the original model, and also enables improved productivity and product quality as well as more efficient use of energy resources.

Features include: choice of PreciFX drumless yarn traversing system that offers improved individual package quality, or a drum system; and splicing technology that ensures highest splicing quality -- both offering reproducible results. Autoconer X5 also is equipped with the X-Change doffer, which speeds the package doffing process; central settings to speed the start-up process; and single motor drives to improve the power dynamics. The company reports the machine's intelligent process automation improves production profitability; sensor- and single-motor-controlled piecing cycles reduce waste and energy usage; process sequences are designed to save time and labor; and a newly designed cooling concept optimizes energy usage.  Other features include state-of-the-art electronics and CAN bus concept, and Plug & Wind technology.
