Pasadena, Calif.-based Avery Dennison Corp. is celebrating its 75th anniversary. From its establishment in 1935 by R. Stanton Avery -- who developed the first self-adhesive label and label-making machinery and received 18 patents for his pressure-sensitive materials and production technologies -- the company has grown into a $6 billion global enterprise.
