Amacoil Debuts Level Winding System

Amacoil Inc., Aston, Pa., has developed the Amacoil-Uhing AVS system software-based level winding system. The technology uses sensors to monitor and coordinate line feed speed, spool rotational speed, and linear speed and traversing unit position. Built-in software analyzes sensor data and automatically corrects uneven winding. The software can store up to 10 winding programs.

The traverse winding drive is suitable for applications requiring winding speeds of up to 3,000 revolutions per minute. Spools can be evenly wound even when spool flanges are warped or damaged. Tape, ribbons, ropes and string may be wound.
