After operating as Zimmer Machinery Corp. for 25 years, the Spartanburg-based manufacturer, representative, consulting and technical services company has announced it has changed its name to Zimmer America Corp. The company hopes its new corporate identity and new website, located at www.zimmer-usa.com and expected to be live by January 30, will reflect the fact that the company has branched out and grown beyond its core textile business.

Zimmer will continue to service the textile, nonwoven and plastics industries in the United States and Canada, but is expanding its services with the addition of new partners especially in the sustainability area. The company will establish two new business groups: Recycling Technology Innovations to represent its recycling technologies including textile fiber recycling and polyester bottle recycling technologies; and Solar Power Systems to represent a variety of solar power technologies from residential and commercial photovoltaic solar electricity systems to commercial and industrial solar thermal installations and residential hot water systems.
