Gastonia, N.C.-based sales yarn spinner Parkdale Mills Inc. will invest $3 million to expand its Plant #20 in Edgefield, S.C., adding new equipment to increase capacity. The expansion -- expected to be completed by May 1 -- will generate 16 jobs, for which Parkdale plans to begin hiring in February.

"This expansion is an exciting event for our Edgefield facility and our associates there," said Robert Nodine, Edgefield plant manager, Parkdale Mills. "Edgefield County continues to be a perfect fit for our company, providing an excellent business environment and a talented and dedicated workforce. We appreciate all the support we have received from state and local officials."
