Zimmer Machinery Corp., Spartanburg -- a manufacturer, representative, consulting and technical services firm -- has changed its name to Zimmer America Corp. to mark its expansion beyond its core textile business.

Zimmer will continue to service the U.S. and Canadian textile, nonwovens and plastics industries, but it is forming two new business groups: Recycling Technology Innovations to represent its textile-fiber and polyester-bottle recycling technologies; and Solar Power Systems to represent residential and commercial photovoltaic electricity systems; commercial and industrial solar thermal installations; and residential hot water systems.
