NWS Selects NSC Nonwoven Equipment For GMP Medical Grade Product Line
Ingleside Ill.-based NonWoven Solutions (NWS) LLC, a producer of a variety of felt and filtration
nonwoven products, recently opened a 40,000-square-foot facility in Lakemoor, Ill., to produce good
manufacturing practices (GMP) medical-grade certified products. NWS selected Excelle® machinery
with ProDyn® from France-based NSC nonwoven for the facility.
According to NSC nonwoven, ProDyn, a system that utilizes internal speed variation to automatically adjust the fiber weight according to the preselected finished fabric width, offers a coefficient of variation of less than 1 percent. Machine- and cross-direction corrections compensate for distortion caused during bonding processes.
NWS maintains an inventory of basic products, but specializes in creating custom products for customers. "We often work side by side with customers to develop a fabric based on a price point or performance criteria," said Steve Brown, director, NWS. "All testing is performed in accordance with ASTM and IST standards along with critical requirements for skin contact applications as well as long term packaging stability."
