TenCate Unveils Mirafi® MiraGreen™ D
Pendergrass, Ga.-based TenCate Geosynthetics North America, a division of the Netherlands-based
Royal Ten Cate, has introduced Mirafi® MiraGreen™ D, a nonwovens drainage geotextile comprised of
30-percent recycled content. According to TenCate, Mirafi MiraGreen geotextiles easily can conform
to the ground or trench surfaces for simple installation; have high permittivity properties
enabling high water flow and good soil retention; are chemically stable for use in harsh
environments; and are cost-effective, with the same quality as standard 100-percent polypropylene
or polyester virgin-based geotextiles.
Mirafi MiraGreen D geotextiles are suitable for waste management applications including landfill drainage and filtration as well as barriers; and water management applications including subsurface drainage, highways, green roofs and under airfields. The textile has earned credits in three categories -- Sustainable Sites, Materials & Resources and Innovation & Design -- from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System™ for New Construction.
