NDC Launches 8110-F Gauging System
Irwindale, Calif.-based NDC Infrared Engineering, a manufacturer of process control solutions has
introduced the 8110-F single-point thickness measuring and control system. The system is composed
of an iFrame intelligent measurement and control station and the option of either a gamma
backscatter sensor or an infrared (IR) sensor with four IR channels, depending on the application
need. A MiniFlex Operator Work Station with touch-screen capabilities can be used to view the
process; or NDC can provide the more economical View Station software, which operates on a standard
Windows XP or Vista computer with monitor and mouse.
The 8110-F system can be used for coating, rubber calendering, nonwovens and simple extrusion processes. Histogram, In-line and Trend display tools are available to give operators an in-depth view of the application process. The 8110-F is based on Total Distributed Intelligence (TDi) - NDC's advanced measurement and control system - but it is available at a less expensive entry level than the TDi. It can be easily upgraded to more complex NDC systems with improved functionality.
