Yunique Adds Materials Development Tools To PlmOn™

New York City-based Yunique Solutions Inc. has added materials development tools to its Web-based plmOn™ product lifecycle management (PLM) software solution. The new tools will allow fashion and related companies to manage the development of raw materials and new products in one software solution. The new fabric, trim, color, testing and vendor collaboration capabilities are included in the latest plmOn and srmOn™ solutions.

According to Yunique, the new tools can greatly reduce development cycles and raise productivity for companies that manage fabric and trim development, especially those that work with multiple suppliers and mills; use a wide range of materials or components; keep large materials libraries; require strict materials testing and quality control; or undergo extensive lab dip and color approval processes.

"Many fashion companies are challenged with managing materials and product development in separate systems using different methodologies," said Darioush Nikpour, vice president of business development, Yunique. "Working closely with our clients, we saw an opportunity to reduce process complexity, time and costs by bringing everything together in one place. By providing these new materials development tools in a rapid implementation program, we are significantly increasing the footprint of PLM to include the comprehensive toolset needed to manage, track, and collaborate throughout the entire materials and product development process."
