Shepherd Adds Yellow 40P140 To Precise® Pigments Line

The Shepherd Color Co., Cincinnati, has added Yellow 40P140, CI Pigment Yellow 53 to its Precise® line of inorganic pigments for coloring fibers and films. According to the company, the pigment is durable, lightfast and chemically inert; weathers well; offers high temperature stability; and is insoluble and resistant to bleeding and migration.

The pigment also is part of Shepherd’s Arctic® range of pigments, which reflect the infrared portion of the sun’s light — thus minimizing heat buildup and reducing overall energy costs, while retaining color, gloss, flexibility and mechanical properties.

According to Shepherd, the pigment meets the following safety codes: FDA 21CFR 178.3297; FDA 21CFR 170.39; CONEG; RoHS 2000/95/EC, WEEE 2002/96/EC, Toy Safety EN71.3; French Positive List; and Council of Europe AP(89)1.
