London Luxury To Develop Bed, Bath Products Using Outlast® Temperature-Regulating Technology

London Luxury LLC, a New Rochelle, New York-based home textiles manufacturer, has signed a licensing agreement with Boulder, Colo.-based Outlast Technologies Inc., a developer of temperature-regulating technology for apparel, footwear, bedding, packaging and labels, and accessories. Under the agreement, London Luxury will produce a line of bed and bath products featuring an antimicrobial finish and Outlast® Gold level temperature-regulating technology. The new line will be marketed to baby-boomers, particularly those who experience symptoms such as night sweats and other symptoms associated with menopause.

Outlast temperature-regulating technology, which was originally created for NASA astronauts, features Thermocules™, microencapsulated phase-change materials that absorb excess body heat, store it and then release it when the body is cold, thereby balancing a sleeper’s skin temperature, according to Outlast. The new products offering the technology will include bathrobes and slippers, mattress pads, comforters, pillows, toppers and woven blankets.

“Coupling Outlast technology with anti-microbial stain release functionality is a natural for this demographic as overheating and night sweating has been known to promote the build up of odor-causing bacteria,” said Guy Eckert, executive vice president of business development, Outlast Technologies.
