Decorator Industries Consolidates Indiana Facilities
Pembroke Pines, Fla.-based Decorator Industries Inc. — a supplier of interior furnishings for
recreational vehicles (RVs), manufactured housing, and the hospitality industry — will consolidate
its Elkhart, Ind. manufacturing operations into its Goshen, Ind. facility. Both facilities
manufacture products for the RV industry, which has been negatively impacted by high fuel prices
and the national credit crisis, as well as low consumer confidence.
According to Decorator Industries, the Goshen facility is closer to the majority of the company’s customers than the Elkhart facility and is the better manufacturing facility, offering room for expansion once business improves. The company notes the move — which it expects to complete by Oct. 31, 2008 — will not disrupt product offerings or customer service. Most of the existing employees will be retained.
