Hirsch International Partners With Mimaki To Distribute Textile Printers

Hauppauge, N.Y.-based Hirsch International Corp. — a supplier of apparel decorating machines that include Tajima embroidery equipment, MGM screen printing equipment, SEIT textile bridge lasers, Pulse Microsystems digitizing and design software and Kornit digital garment printers — has signed an agreement with Mimaki USA Inc., Suwanee, Ga., enabling Hirsch to be a distributor of Mimaki’s GP-604 digital garment printers. Used for textiles and apparel, Mimaki’s inkjet printers can print directly on ready-made clothing, which helps designers maintain small-lot production as well as on-demand market requests, according to Hirsch.

“This is a natural and logical partnership for Hirsch that allows us to extend our offerings in the digital printing space and further address market demand for personalized and small-lot production,” said Paul Gallagher, CEO, Hirsch International. “This addition is particularly important for us as the general economic slowdown has impacted consumers’ buying decisions. We believe that Mimaki’s high-quality, moderately priced machines may present existing and new customers with more economically viable buying options.”

Under the terms of the initial one-year agreement, Hirsch will be Mimaki’s non-exclusive distributor in the United States and also will provide customer support for the products.
