Crosslink Partners With BondCote

St. Louis-based Crosslink - a provider of electroactive polymer material applications - entered into an exclusive North American license agreement with Pulaski, Va.- based BondCote Corp. - a producer of high-performance coated and laminated fabrics - to represent SuperFlex™ technology to military markets. SuperFlex polythiophene-based electroluminescent (EL) coating produces light that doesn't cast point-source lighting and can be used on military applications such as tents, tarpaulins and other equipment made of coated or laminated fabrics or textiles.

According to the companies, military end users concerned with rapid deployment will find SuperFlex technology valuable because it is lightweight, crushable, ballistic-tolerant and nontoxic, compared to ruggidized fluorescent lighting systems. SuperFlex can be formulated to emit light in fifteen visible colors and near-infrared (NIR) spectrums.

"We believe the SuperFlex technology will further expand our product offering to our customers in ‘next generation' solutions in military applications and are excited to move Crosslink's development efforts to commercialization," said BondCote President and CEO Ted Anderson.

The agreement initially applies to Crosslink's production of lamp systems sent to BondCote for final assembly and delivery. It also enables BondCote to build its own print production capacity, using only proprietary inks from Crosslink.
