Sono-Tek Sells WideTrack Coater For Textile Use
Sono-Tek Corp., a Milton, N.Y.-based supplier of ultrasonic spraying and coating systems, has sold
a WideTrack ultrasonic coater to a major textile manufacturer to replace a traditional finishing
line used to apply a range of finishes to fabric. The system — which features ultrasonic
non-clogging, self-cleaning nozzles; a computerized control system; and an integrated pumping
system — is the first sold for a textile application.
“Sono-Tek’s WideTrack Textile Coater offers the textile industry a key advantage in competing
with offshore manufacturers by saving them energy and chemicals in the application of performance
finishes,” said Dr. Christopher L. Coccio, CEO and president, Sono-Tek. “ There is an added
environmental benefit in that less chemical and water use means less clean-up afterwards, and a
smaller carbon footprint.” He also noted that the system allows the manufacturer to apply different
coatings to each side of a fabric.
