Lectra Upgrades Modaris 3D Fit

Paris-based Lectra, a provider of integrated technology solutions for fashion and soft goods applications, has expanded the simulation capabilities of its Modaris 3D Fit virtual 3D apparel prototyping software.

With Modaris 3D Fit V5R2, Lectra has added male and female plus-size parametric mannequins to the previous eight sizes, as well as new postures for all its parametric mannequins. The new software also includes 20 additional supplementary materials in its materials library, for a total of 140, making it the most complete such library available, according to the company. With the new materials, the software now can simulate certain knits, in addition to professional and technical apparel.

“Nowadays, product development costs and delivery times are key elements for all professionals in the apparel industry,” said Daniel Harari, CEO, Lectra. “With Modaris 3D Fit, virtual 3D prototyping can yield incommensurable reductions — between 30 and 50 percent on average, depending on the models — in product development cycle times, generating significant cost reductions for our customers. In addition, by optimizing communication and cooperation among all actors in the product development process, Modaris 3D fit is also an effective aid to decision-making.”

Modaris 3D Fit V5R2 is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system. Lectra trade and solutions professionals are available to provide a variety of high-value-added support services.
