DyStar, Sympatex Team With bluesign®

DyStar Textilfarben GmbH & Co. Deutschland KG — a Germany-based supplier of dyes, auxiliaries and services for the textile industry — and Germany-based Sympatex Technologies GmbH — a manufacturer of high-tech functional systems for apparel, footwear and accessories, including a 100-percent recyclable membrane and Ecocycle SL laminate — have entered into bluesign® system partnerships, thus receiving bluesign certification for all products.

The bluesign® standard is a third-party international quality guideline that denotes eco-friendly production and textiles as well as efficient use of resources. Companies whose products display the bluesign label employ the bluesign system in their production plants and products.

“With DyStar as a supporter, we are gaining a strong partner for the implementation of our standards across the supply chain for the world’s leading brands and retailers,” said Peter Waeber, CEO, bluesign technologies.

“Our primary goal is to combine the best possible performance for our products with maximum environmental sustainability,” said Thomas Baierlein, managing director, Sympatex Technologies. “By achieving maximum consumer and environmental protection coupled with resource optimization, the bluesign standard brings us a big step closer to this goal.”

Sympatex’s recyclable membrane — a breathable, waterproof and windproof biodegradable polyester/polyether blend that serves as a substitute for polytetrafluoroethylene-based membranes — and other products, as well as DyStar’s products, will be listed in the bluefinder™, a database for the textile industry that lists best available products, classified according to ecological and economic criteria.
