BASF Adds MasterFiber™ Reinforcement To Admixtures Offerings
BASF Corp., the Florham Park, N.J.-based North American affiliate of Germany-based BASF SE, has
announced that its Cleveland-based Construction Chemicals division’s Admixture Systems business now
offers MasterFiber™ man-made-fiber reinforcements for concrete applications.
“Fibers are a natural addition to our admixtures product offering, as they provide additional ways for concrete producers to enhance the long-term durability and service life of the concrete,” said Jim Reddy, product line manager, BASF. “All concrete is susceptible to cracking, but our new line of MasterFiber synthetic fibers enables us to further help our customers prevent the negative influences weather has on concrete during placing, finishing and curing.”
According to the company, the reinforcements enhance the concrete’s resistance to drying and plastic shrinkage, reduce its porosity, and increase its fatigue strength and impact resistance.
