Malvern Instruments Acquires Viscotek

England-based Malvern Instruments has acquired Houston-based Viscotek Corp. The acquisition will enable Malvern — a developer, manufacturer and marketer of advanced analytical systems used to characterize a particulate materials — to offer Viscotek’s chromatography solutions for the characterization of natural and man-made polymers and proteins including dilute solution viscosity, flow injection polymer analysis and gel permeation chromotography.

“In recent years Viscotek has experienced exciting growth,” said Dr. Max Haney, founder of Viscotek. “The powerful alignment of Viscotek’s products with the Malvern range will provide even more opportunity to comprehensively meet a broad range of customer needs. I am delighted that the company has become part of Malvern Instruments, where I am confident of further development and a thriving and expanded business.”

Viscotek’s management team will continue. The company will operate as Viscotek Corp., a Malvern Co.
