Soodo Completes Thies Dyehouse Installation

South Korea-based Soodo Knitting and Dyeing Co. has installed two new Luft-roto plus dyeing units from Germany-based Thies GmbH & Co KG. The units — a 540-kilogram (kg)-capacity three-tube unit, and 720 kg-capacity four-tube unit — complete Soodo’s 100-percent Thies-equipped dyehouse. In addition to the new machines, the dyehouse includes eight soft-TRD DS XL machines, two Luft-roto plus machines, a MPS-L chemical dosing system, a MPS-D dyestuff dissolving system, and an OrgaTex dyehouse control system.

The latest installation, supplied through Thies’ local dealer, Korea Illies Engineering Co., will help increase Soodo’s production of sportswear, T-shirts, and swimwear containing spandex and microfibers by up to 20 tons per day.
