NCSU College Of Textiles Announces Research Open House

The North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Textiles will hold its sixth annual Research Open House on Monday, April 21, at the college, located on NCSU’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh, N.C.

The open house provides an opportunity for textile industry representatives to tour the college, meet and discuss research with graduate students and faculty, and participate in discussions about research directions for the college.

The open house will kick off at 8:00 a.m. with a welcome and introductory talk by College of Textiles Dean Blanton Godfrey. Poster sessions, organized by the Textile Association of Graduate Students will take place from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed at 11:00 a.m. by keynote speakers Dr. Cindy Istook, speaking about functional apparel; Dr. Russell Gorga, nanotextiles; and Dr. Peter Hauser, functionalized textiles. Graduate student awards will be presented during lunch, and attendees will be able to tour the college from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A reception will take place at 4:00 p.m., followed by a fashion show presented by undergraduate senior textile students.
