Fruit Of The Loom Shutter Honduras Facility

Fruit of the Loom Inc., Bowling Green, Ky., has announced it will close its Jerzees de Choloma apparel production facility in Choloma, Honduras, in the next few months. Approximately 800 employees will be affected.

The company attributes the closure to a shift in product demand, as well as the continuing consolidation of Fruit of the Loom and Russell Corp. production. Fruit of the Loom purchased Russell Corp., which now operates as a freestanding subsidiary of Fruit of the Loom, in 2006.
