Germany-based Zwick GmbH & Co. KG has added new models to its range of zwicki-Line universal testing machines used in research and development labs and quality assurance environments to test textiles, composite materials, elastomers and plastics, among other products.

The machines are now available in four load capacities — 500 Newtons, 1 kiloNewton (kN), 2.5kN and 5kN — and three height combinations, and are equipped with Zwick’s testControl system and utilize testXpert® II software.

Additional features include test and crosshead positioning speeds of up to 3,000 meters per minute, depending on the model, the ability to record machine data including crosshead position and limit switch positions when the machine is on or off; and automatic load frame compliance compensation. Real-time correction is carried out in the machine controller, and the adaptive drive control ensures the best possible response and performance from the drive system, according to Zwick.

The zwicki may be used as a stand-alone machine or it may be connected to any commercially available PC or laptop.
