RadiciSpandex Now Offers Fully Drawn Nylon 6,6

Gastonia, N.C.-based RadiciSpandex Corp., the North American business of the Italy-based Radici Group, now offers warp-drawn nylon 6,6 in 40 through 100 denier for stretch fabrics, whites-only fabrics or rigid warp-knit first-quality fabrics.

The company installed the draw warper at the Gastonia facility with guidance from Radici Group technicians. The group does not produce the nylon fiber, which is compliant with NAFTA, CAFTA and CBI regulations. Yarn is warp-drawn under climate-controlled conditions. More than 1,600 ends can be warp drawn at one time. Minimum order quantities are small, making the yarn available at competitive prices to textile mills of any size.

“We are pleased to announce this new business initiative, which was inspired by demand from our valued customers who have long faced a limited domestic supply of nylon yarn,” said Marty Moran, CEO, RadiciSpandex. “As the North American arm of the Radici Group, which has a major presence in the worldwide nylon market, it made sense to utilize the Radici Group’s expertise and leverage the natural synergies of spandex and nylon end-uses in the apparel textile markets. Although spandex remains our primary business, we are happy to introduce this warp draw venture as an optional service to our customers, who are our first priority.”
