Rieter Offers R 40 With 500 Rotors

Switzerland-based Rieter Machine Works Ltd. now offers its automated R 40 rotor spinning machine with up to 500 spinning positions. According to the company, the machine, which can be up to 68 meters long, achieves rotor speeds of up to 160,000 revolutions per minute and processes up to 270 meters of yarn per minute.

Further advantages reported by Rieter include: protection of electronic components even at high ambient temperatures; high efficiency — for example, greater than 97-percent for a long R 40 with four robots; reduced energy consumption per rotor; yarn quality comparable to that achieved on conventional machines, but at greater machine efficiencies and low twist levels; and quick installation and start-up.
