TRC Freudenberg Form Joint Venture In Argentina

Tel Rad Cuyo S.A. (TRC) and Freudenberg Telas Sin Tejer S.A., both based in Argentina, have formed Bicomfiber S.A., a joint venture company that will manufacture various bicomponent fibers for a range of applications. The new company, based near Buenos Aires, Argentina, will have an annual production capacity of more than 10,000 tons.

Majority shareholder TRC is a major producer of polypropylene fiber for the Latin American hygiene market. TRC President Guillermo Kraves said the company will further penetrate that market as a result of the venture with Freudenberg, a subsidiary of Germany-based Freudenberg Nonwovens.

“With this new joint venture, we will be able to offer a complete package of different materials for the markets where we are presently active, being better prepared for the new challenges to come,” said Juan Carlos Borchardt, president, Freudenberg Nonwovens Latin America.
