Belgian Laminator Installs Web Processing Line

Vandeputte-Avitex, a commission laminating operation in Belgium, has installed a hot melt/combined polyurethane laminating line from Web Processing (M/C) Ltd., an England-based manufacturer of specialty textile machinery.

“I was surprised and delighted at the speed of installation and commissioning of the line,” said Ivan Vandeputte, title (have sent email). “It was in operation only two days after its arrival at our factory here in Ingelmunster. The smooth start up and the manufacture of production materials already has impressed me, and I am sure I will fill this machine to capacity very soon. This line gives me an additional technique to complement my existing production facility and the ability to produce an even more diverse range of laminations at much higher speeds.”

Vandeputte-Avitex is using the line — designed for both long runs and discontinuous operation — to produce laminates of fabrics, films, foils, knitwear, Lycra®, nonwovens, paper, polyurea and other foams; and a variety of open-structure fabrics. The line features a roll face measuring 2.8 meters wide and an operating speed of up to 50 meters per minute. It is capable of batching materials up to 2 meters in diameter from three unwind positions. The line’s design enables the optimum amount of tension to be applied to processed materials during adhesive application and lamination, according to Web Processing.
