Quiltcraft Acquires Boriack Interiors

Quiltcraft Industries Inc., a Dallas-based manufacturer of window treatments and bedding for corporate and consumer markets, has recently acquired Boriack Interiors, a Grand Prairie, Texas-based manufacturer of blinds, shades and other window. Quiltcraft will add 25 positions at its facility in Dallas.

As a result of the acquisition, Quiltcraft will now offer customers Hunter Douglass, Bali, Levelor, Newmat, Novawall and Mechoshade wall-covering products.

“At a time when many firms offshore their manufacturing, we are finding the competitive advantages of keeping jobs in Dallas, particularly in its southern sector,” said David Pearson, vice president, Quiltcraft. “For example, our quick response times and centralized location have made us appealing to multinationals like Marriott and Hilton.”

The purchase will enable Quiltcraft to continue its surge in growth. In the last two years, the company has experienced 300-percent, which stems from an overall rise in spending among hoteliers. In 2006, the company was ranked among Dallas’s top 40 fastest growing privately held businesses by the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship.
