ITMF Publishes 2006 Edition Of International Production Cost Comparison

The Switzerland-based International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has published the 2006 edition of the International Production Cost Comparison, a biennial report providing a point of reference for prevailing yarn and fabric production costs in seven major textile-manufacturing countries, including the United States, China, India, Korea, Italy, Turkey and Brazil.

The report — which covers the spinning, texturing, knitting and weaving sectors of the textile industry — separates manufacturing and total yarn and fabric costs into cost components per kilogram of yarn and per meter of fabric. Manufacturing costs are based on parameters provided by textile machinery manufacturers Barmag and Mayer & Cie., Germany; and Rieter Textile Systems and Sultex Ltd., Switzerland.

International Production Cost Comparison, 2006 edition, is available on CD-ROM and may be purchased from ITMF using its online order form at www.itmf.org/publications.html.
